I Want to Pray for My Baby

"At every stage of their lives our
children need and will
greatly benefit from our prayers"

(Clarke Sleeping in His Favorite Chair)

I am currently serving as Vice President Spiritual Life for the Protestant Women of the Chapel in Illesheim, Germany and I love every minute of it. I get the incredible job of seeking out the Father's guidance and choosing the studies that our ladies will be participating in during the semester. "The Power of a Praying Parent" was recommended to me by one of my friends as a 3rd class since we have a lot of new mommy's in our group. I ordered this study as soon as it was recommended and the minute I put my nose in it, I was hooked! I know I long to be that Mommy who prays with and for her children every day. I did decided that we would offer the book as a study and I can't wait to hear the other ladies input. I know I am standing in amazement already and I've just finished Chapter One. I love to read and this book is one that I HIGHLY recommend for any mother or father who has children and also have that strong deisre to pray for their children, young and old alike. So if you my friends wanna pray for those little blessings that are making you pull your hair out :-) run out to Lifeway or check out www.cbd.com and get your own copy!!!

Here are a few quotes and scriptures from the first chapter that really jumped out from the pages.
"Train up a child in the way he should go.
Even when he is old he will not depart from it."
Proverbs 22:6

"Pour our your heart like water before the face of the Lord.
Lift your hands towards Him for
the life of your young children.
Lamentations 2:19
"we must cover every detail of our child's life in prayer."

"My husband and I had dedicated our son to God in a church service, but God wanted more than that. He wanted us to continue giving Christopher to Him on a daily basis."

"Prayer is acknowledging and experiencing the presence of God and inviting His presence into our lives and circumstances."

"When we pray, we are humbling ourselves before God and saying, "I need Your presence and Your power, Lord. I can't do this without You."

"Praying in the name of Jesus gives you authority over the enemy and proves we have faith in God to do what His Word promises."

"It's not enough to pray only for the concerns of the moment; we need to pray for the future, and we need to pray against the effects of past event."

"The battle for our children's lives is waged on our knees."

"If we... WATCH Him,
WALK with Him,
WAIT on Him,
WORSHIP Him
and LIVE in His word
WE WILL WIN this battle for our children.
